At Club Margarita 16th to 29th March 2006

Sunny, windy, very relaxed latin-american atmosphere.

Plenty of windsurfing. The centre (Club Margarita) is very good - lots of kit and excellent instruction. The venue is superb - cross shore winds, chop on the inside and some swell on the outside. Shallow water for 200m. So far the wind has blown every day (touch wood!) and we have been on sails from 4.5 to 6.0m for me and 5.0 to 7.5 for Dave. 14 days in a row - planing conditions every day - what more could you ask for :0)

We were winsurfing in the company of Mr Ricardo Campello and friends - synchronised loops and all sorts of other stuff within yards. We thought the indoor arena at the boatshow was great - but this was just AWESOME!!!
Benny, Colin and Ollie (the Club Margarita boys) were pretty good too :0)

Well, in fact, in addition to that we have been surfing one morning and we went trekking up a watercourse into the jungle (well nearly jungle). We saw salamanders, iguanas, snakes, butterflies and spiders - one of which was a very hairy tarantula!!

The food is good, plentiful and reasonably priced. There are lots of restaurants nearby and we didn't feel the need to venture out of El Yaque into the nearby city of Porlamor. Porlamor is a pretty big city which surprised us when we went past it on the way to the surf beach. The whole place is very similar to southern Spain - painted houses, walled gardens and obviously the language :0)

CanĀ“t remember when we have had such a good holiday and we are already planning what trips we will take when we come back the next time.
